Bishop Jake?!?

It's true! Jake was sustained the Bishop of the Ponce I ward yesterday. I am still trying to get used to it. Cycling through feelings of wanting to vomit, cry or just numb. He is handling it much better than me.
Of course my Jakey is special - but come on he's Jake, "crossing the line" Jake, moon my own mother Jake , "buy a new car without telling me" Jake, and and now Bishop Jake?!?
Truth is he is wonderful and he will do a wonderful job.

Wow! That is great exciting news! Doug and I were thrilled to hear it. I read you post and called Keen rigt away. I told him I had news that would make his day and it did. Jake...Joe still remembers you so fondly as his YM leader when he first became a deacon. Many times at family night he brings up lessons you taught in his class. If you can teach and inspire a deacon, you can do the same for all the memebers of your ward. You, my friend, are going to be wonderful. Caroline, good luck! Be strong!

My John always says that who you marry greatly expands or limits your potential, so congratulations to you both!!! Enjoy the blessings. They are the hardest (and most wonderful) blessings you will ever earn.

So Jake must have been right... the spirit doesn't speak spanish! He will have to pass that along to your ward for times when they lose their temper:) Seriously though, that's awesome, you guys will do great!

I found your blog by chance. I hope you don't mind my comments on your blog. It seems to me that you are a mormon. If you are a mormon and your husband is the Bishop, why congratulate him for been such. I thought your church didn't pay the ministers. Is he closer to perfection by getting this bishop promotion. Do followers see the bishops as better than others. Perhaps, this is like a corporate ladder and he is on his way to CEO. I am honestly confused. Are those in the ministering position getting pay. Is it a promotion???

Well, I heard from Lisa about this rumor. So, I had to google your names and actually found your blog. I had a good chuckle about your thoughts on the matter. But, I must say that is awesome! You both (Bishop's wife included) will do a great job serving. That is what you get for moving to Puerto Rico!
